  1. COMMUNITY THEATRE CLUB – This year’s Performance “NEW YORK OR BUST” took place on Friday, March 6, 2020. CAST – YOU WERE WONDERFUL!!!!

  1. The Corona virus is something we have never experienced before. Obviously, it is affecting all of us. It is hard for everyone to adjust to self isolation.  However, we must.  We are unable to offer Community Children’s Choir in April.  I am really hoping Community Theatre Camp can go ahead in July.  Let’s be positive, and, stay in touch.

There will be no spring session of Community Children’s Choir this year.

There will be a fall session, starting right after Thanksgiving and leading up to Christmas.

We look for boys and girls, ages 6 to 12, in our community who like to sing!  We offer an opportunity to learn the joy of singing in an environment of love and fun.    There is no fee.  Just come and sing with us!!!

Andrea and I are thinking positive and making plans for our summer Community Theatre Camp.  Families have already contacted me for registration forms!!!  This will be our ninth summer to  offer an exciting drama experience for all our campers.   We welcome all children and teens from our community, ages 6 to 16 years.

Our campers learn sooooooo much, especially in the areas of Creativity  and Confidence.  We guarantee an original fun script and a role for everyone.   Our camps fill up quickly, so please contact me if there is someone at your house who loves theatre and having lots of fun!  There is a spot for all Drama Kings and Queens with Guelph United Performers!

Our plan right now is to run our two camps the weeks of July 6 to 10; and July 20 to 24:   Morning Camp, 9:00 to noon –  6 to 10 year-olds.  Afternoon Camp, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – 11 to 16 year-olds.   Please keep in touch and contact me soon.

“NEW YORK OR BUST”   – we all remember our high school class trip!   All the excitement, anticipation, and, drama…..   The year is 1985, and, we are going to New York City!!!  Every student wants to go.  Who will be picked???  Even the teachers and Mrs. McGoo are going.   And, then Mr. Hill springs a surprise quiz on us.  Why, this is just like Family Feud!

Our high school is just like every other one.  We have the big hair, neon pink and lime green t-shirts, leg warmers, and, the Oilers are hockey champions.  Our class of /85 has its “jocks”, the popular girls with attitude, the “artsy” kids, the bullied one, the “normal” kids, the other kids.  Lots of tension, excitement, and a surprise ending…….   We all win!!!  We all get to go to New York City!  We all get to know each other and work together.  —   And, even Tina and Shannon reunite as best friends again.

Our Performance took place on Friday evening, March 6.   And, what a night it was!!!   The cast, the characters, the talent, the set, the costumes, the excitement and the fun……….    The house was full with our families and friends.

Austin, Bridget, Cindy, Gary, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Kelly, Lisa, Marcella, Mr. Hill, Mrs. McGog, Ms. Parker, Ms. Smith, Shannon, Tiffany, Tina, and Tracey all had the time of their lives in New York City.    CAST –  you are all amazing, and we sure love you!

Community Theatre Club will be starting up again in mid September 2020 on Tuesday evenings!  Keep in touch!
